I'm not backing up the claims that playing as a female is weird by any means, but just to set you straight - programming a NPC in a game to interact with the primary character is much different than actually playing as the primary character.

Ive never actually made a female character...the idea passed through me as I just make males...but out of suspision i may make a female (since females get treated better)

It's not like you have to sit down to pee when you play fem avie. I wouldn't be concerned until after a mission you can actually grab a tent to work off some steam.
BTW, Principa Discordia I love your Avatar. Take me back

Wyst, I don't think you're unusual - the majority of the time when girl friends have played games, be it pac-man, qubert (on a mobile!), swg, ut they play more hardcore and more to win than a lot of blokes.

That's not the point I was making. OK, you are playing your character. You interact with a preprogrammed NPC such as the Healer hench. That character is female. Now, while I am of course not 100% sure, I would say I am at least 85% sure that that character was designed by a male. It's not much different from interacting with some male who is playing a female. Unless of course the person you are playing with is an immature kid spouting off nonsense and having his/her toon run around in their skivvies.

I'm surprised no one has brought up pronouns. Should you refer to a female toon as 'she' or 'he' since odds are that the characters is being played by a male and you are actually addressing the player?
I generally assume the toon's sex but I don't care about the person's sex since it, in no way, affects our relationship as players.
It doesn't matter if the girl of my dreams is playing that elementalist, if she is a terrible player then I want nothing to do with her in-game.

I liked that the pixels of her butt got better with every new game. I only ever felt slightly perverted. (makeing her do the handstand on the ledge thing over and over )
Truth be told I play both male and female equally to fit whatever theme I can think up. Its much more interesting to have a veriety of characters. A feature that I miss from City of Heroes was the abilty to write a charater desription or background story to share with others. Gave a lot of creative freedom and added to the game as well.
Play what you like or want to for your own reasons and don't worry about what others think.

You know "their" can be, but it is rare, to be used in the singular. It being one way to get around the "he/she" words in writing.
This has nothing to so with the thread. I just loked it up in my Dictionary one time.

lol intelligence strikes again! I have a main female character. Why? because similar to a when a guy is drawing, you (i at least) want to make something beautiful when you are creating a character (a ranger not a warrior) and I thought the female chars were beautiful. That is it!

Well, now that this thread is in the Outer Circle where it belongs, I decided to go through it and weed out all the flamebait from it to see if there was a good discussion to be had on the topic. Alas, this doesn't seem easily possible, as indeed the very first post in this thread is nothing but ignorant flamebait.
If you want some excuse to call people pervs of otherwise engage in namecalling, find some other site to do it on.
If people really want a mature discussion on this subject, start a new thread and keep the flamebait, namecalling and sheer idiocy out of it, because I'm closing this one. There's too much crap in this one to try to fix it at this point...
